Description

Highlights
  • High tenacity acrylic adhesive offers excellent flagging resistance and adhesion to a variety of substrates
  • 55 lb. densified kraft paper liner provides an ideal surface for rotary die-cutting applications
  • Heat resistance up to 150°F / 65°C, and short term resistance up to 250°F / 121°C allows tape to bond even at high temperatures
  • Excellent chemical resistance allows tape to perform in laminate processes
  • Thin application of adhesive creates a thin bond line

3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 9447 is specifically designed for use with 3M™ Label Component Systems for graphics printing of polyester films. It is also used in construction custom tamper-inducing labels. This tape is mounted on a 55 lb. densified kraft liner and performs well at elevated temperatures.

Designed for Use with 3M™ Label Component Systems
3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 9447 includes 1 mil of 3M™ High Tenacity Acrylic Adhesive 320 mounted on a 55 lb. densified kraft liner. This liner is a caliper controlled hard liner for consistent base in rotary printing and die cutting applications. This tape is typically used to make tamper-indicating labels with label component system films and solutions. These labels may then be used as seals for over-the-counter drugs, banking envelopes, non-transferable automobile inspection labels and a variety of other applications. The tape is ideal for use in harsh environments such as automotive hood or outdoor environments. Excellent chemical resistance and high heat resistant allows this tape to perform in these environment.

Recommended Applications

  • Protected graphics printing on polyester films
  • Custom tamper-inducing labels

Excellent Flagging Resistance and Adhesion
3M™ High Tenacity Acrylic Adhesive 320 is used for general purpose applications and offers excellent flagging resistance and adhesion to a variety of substrates. This adhesive features a temperature range of -40°F / -40°C to 150° / 65°C for extended periods of time, and up to 250°F / 121°C for short term applications. This adhesive is designed for use with 3M™ Label Component Systems for protected graphics printing and custom tamper-indicating labels.

Understanding Adhesive Transfer Tapes
Adhesive transfer tapes are rolls of pressure sensitive adhesive pre-applied to a special release liner. For application, the tape is simply pressed, adhesive side down, to a surface and the liner is peeled off. A variety of adhesive properties and liners are available to meet requirements for applications such as nameplate attachment to high and low surface energy plastics, appliance graphic overlays that perform in high temperatures, foam gasketing, web splicing, signs, posters, banners, point-of-purchase displays, and more.
